A few weeks ago we – my husband Olaf, mother Inge and I - had vacation at the Running-R Ranch. It was our 4th visit and we had a few relaxing days as expected. We eat our first american turkey – thank you Beverly - and we learned something new about nature – thank you Dwight (?) for showing us the little cactus looking like a stone. For us Diane senior, mother of the new owner, was the real heart and soul of the Ranch – everytime a smile on her face, friendly and warm talking to all guest and having attention to what happened in the roundup room. But - sorry about I have to say that - I also noticed some things that should be changed to make the guest come back and give them that familiar feeling the Ranch was/is famous for ‘come as a guest and leave as a friend’. It should be easy to put away or repair broken things and make a ride organisation that kids and familys are save but the other adults will also enjoy the rides. What a Thanksgiving weekend! We couldn't have dreamed of anything better. “Arrive as a guest and leave as a friend!” could not be more true. You really made us feel special. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, the food was great, the family atmosphere was outstanding, the Chili dinner on Thanksgiving was a nice touch for those arriving from far who wouldn’t have found anything open in town. The evening around the bone fire was a perfect time for bounding with the other guests and the wranglers. Talking about the wranglers: Kelsie, Cassie, Dwight and Allan, what a team, passionate, caring, doing everything to make you feel safe and part of the family. They also have that special touch with the kids. Whenever possible, they will do whatever possible to accommodate your special riding requests. With all the horses in the barn, there is always one that will fit your riding experience. Mathilde, Jerome and Lea together with Matilda and Coco (hello Pablo and Leann) had a blast cleaning horse poop every morning and evening. We never had to use the alarm clock. They were gone to help at the barn before we could open both eyes. Only one regret: we had to leave and this didn’t happen without breaking a few tears. The sign at the exit of the ranch “You ‘all be back” doesn’t lie. Thank you again Diane for making this unforgettable experience a dream come true. See you soon. Thanks Diane to you and the staff for a great Thanksgiving visit. The girls and I had a wonderful time. We have done other ranches, but the Running R was a great fit for us - casual, comfortable, good horses and rides, very friendly staff and wranglers, home cooking, and a real cowboy town in Bandera. Thanks to all for a great Thanksgiving holiday, We found the place that take the stress away. The girls ( Rose & Rebeca) truely enjoyed the horses and trail rides as did Mom & Dad. We would like to thank Diane, Kelsie, Cassie, Dwight, and a special thanks to Allan for his spirted support. Please take care of Mr wrinkles until we return. What place can you go on a vacation and come back sporting a new puppy? We can't wait to have another addition to the family. We had a great time again; Diane, Mellissa, Daryl and the crew are excellent hosts. The food was great and the Horse riding was the best. I was so relaxed by the pool and the night time stars just sitting on the porch. I am looking forward to getting back in the fall. We had a really nice time in this ranch, all the wranglers are friendly and sympathics ...it was the first time we ride horses and we liked it so much that we stay a another day in this place. Thanks to Melissa, Darell, Anita and Justin for the nice trails we had and we hope come back may be in october end of the year... Special thanks to Ike, Bulldozer,Walker, Tacos and Habib....the horses... and really I recommend this nice, quiet place for anybody GAP, FRANCE - 06.06.2009, 08:03
