Eight hours in the saddle is no big deal, and I can handle and enjoy myself on any horse. I am an experienced trail rider and have ridden many times. I know how to change leads and the difference between a cantor, a lope and a trot.
I can get a horse to walk, trot and lope without any problem, but I'm not ready to enter the pro class in the San Antonio Cutting Horse FInals.
I have ridden some, although not very often. I understand the basic mechanics of go, stop and turn and can stay in teh saddle.
I have ridden once or twice and done OK.
I have never ridden a horse, but am looking forward to a new experience and a great vacation.

The Running R Ranch Cattle Drive will be $190/day per adult person and $170/day for children from 10-16 (plus tax). This includes your horse, all meals, and a lot of fun! It's highly recommended that you bring your own sleeping bag and tent.

Deadline:

Due to space limitations, we are unable to give refunds for this special event. Anyone cancelling prior to the event or who drops out during the event will not receive a refund. All attending are encouraged to purchase travel insurance.

Rules of the Cattle Drive

We'll be here to ensure you have a great vacation adventure, but there are a few basic rules we need to share with you now. A complete list of all Running R Ranch Cattle Drive rules can be found on the internet.

• Guests will be allowed to bring his or her horse on the cattle drive with prior permission from the Running-R Guest Ranch.
  (Anyone bringing their own horse must meet the standards of the Texas Animal Health Commission)
• All riders must be 18 years of age or older.
• We cannot allow any dogs or other pets on the Drive.
• No alcoholic beverages while riding.
• No firearms are allowed. Even if you have a CCW, leave it at home.
• Willful disregard for the rules or acts of disorderliness will not be tolerated. In the interest of the safety and to ensure the pleasurable experience for the other guests, the Trail Boss or Cow Boss may remove a guest at any time from the drive who demonstrates these characteristics. Any mistreatment of animals or public drunkenness will also get you a ride back to town.
